With the bases generally accepted that the technological capacity doubles every 24 months – what's with the computer mouse we have used the same way since 1963?

Progress with the teams we've seen since then, are enormous. In 1963, the biggest computer (the system of SAGE) weighed 250 tons and is used 3 megawatts of electricity. Today day, you can put a computer that has more computer memory SAGE – in your pocket.

What about the computer mouse – why is that the mouse has remained basically unchanged since it was invented by Douglas Engelbart?

Of course, there have been some significant improvements to its service from the original design (two wheels is used to control the cursor position). A brief summary includes;

• 1972 – Included trackball
• 1984 – Apple mouse button
• 1991 – the first wireless mouse
• 1999 – The first optical mouse (which does not require a special network of stuck a mouse pad).

But overall, the computer mouse has remained virtually the same for over 40 years – why Why?

For those who remember the screen "green", the shortcut keys and the consistent use of the TAB key has been the most efficient way to move the cursor to the desired location. A mouse in this case was more complicated than a help.

And with that, we begin to understand why the computer mouse has not changed – since such a development has been dictated by the software applications we use. Since companies and enterprises were almost the only market for computers and software of the 80s and 90s, the developed applications are focused on the effective incorporation of data, data manipulation and reporting.

However, as we all know, lower prices of information technology has seen in almost every home in the first world countries. Similarly, the Internet What has changed most of the world now uses computers. In place of the first data entry, calculation and output, the team becomes more a tool research, information and entertainment.

Browser-based computing is now a reality. This is the main computer interface is complemented by "point and click on "Learning to use a mouse.

The important factor here is the dramatic change in the amount of time spent at the keyboard mouse v as the primary interface device. When in the past, the division between the keyboard and mouse may have been (generally) 80% of keyboard / 20% of the mice, now is more likely that 40% of the keyboard and mouse to 60% or more.

And it is this departure from the keyboard as the primary mouse interface that presents opportunities mouse to move at last. And evolve it has.

However, this does not mean that the keyboard is redundant in this browser based on the new world. Application use as word processing, spreadsheet and business applications require the use of a keyboard.

But the demand now and in the future is to meet the need for Device interface to facilitate navigation in the way computers are used more frequently. View players play online poker tournaments. This could be a stretch of 3 hours (if they will win!) When the mice could be the only device used to transmit, bet, raise or fold.

Similarly, news junky who sits with them cup of coffee to devour the world's affairs through their RSS feeds and news sites preferred – without touching the keyboard.

The how to use computers is different now. The temporal evolution of the computer mouse is at hand! And we think that evolution has begun …

Is this the computer mouse for today’s browser based computing? We would love to get your opinions and views so check it out and feel free to let us know.
